Saturday 9 May 2009 saw the launch of the Hilldene Renovation Project.
Over 60 friends and family attended a reception to officially rename the rooms at the Centre and launch the Hilldene Renovation Project. Among the invited guests was Chris Huhne MP and representatives from Eastleigh Borough Council and West End Parish Council. After the speeches, guests enjoyed light refreshments and were able to view the facilities at the centre.
The families represented were those of Ken Morris, Ted Topp and Wilf Phillips, who along with Don Horne had worked tirelessly for the Community Centre over the years. Each of them has been recognised for the contribution they made to the Centre and the community.
The aim of the project is to raise in excess of £166,000.00 to renovate and update the Centre facilities, some of which are increasingly becoming in need of particular care. The Management Committee will now be involved in fund raising activities and applying for grants to achieve the planned target date of December 2012.

Approximately 25 'friends of Hilldene walked the Twilight Trail Walk on the 25 April at Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley Abbey in aid of the Countess Mountatten Hospice in West End. Everyone completed the event in just under 2 hours and was welcomed back to base with a BBQ laid on by the organisers. A good time was had by all.

Saturday 28 March 2009 saw Hilldene Community Association hold the first of many fund raising events. A Barn Dance was attended by around 65 people who all had a throughly good time. The committee raised some well needed funds to kick start our campaign. We have some ideas for other events and will post them on this site once they are confirmed.
To all those that attend on Saturday many thanks for your support and we hope to see you all at the next one.
